In a couple hours we will be….again….celebrating the boy’s brother’s engagement. Which is fine.
The theme…again…is “salty and sweet”. She’s sweet, he’s…salty.
I decided to contribute with a sweet and salty snack and consulted Pinterest. Duh. My phone is in the house and I’m enjoying nice quiet time before the madness begins, so you don’t get to see my yellow and green A’s version BUT, these were super easy and SUPER tasty. The hardest part was unwrapping all of the Hugs/Kisses, which wasn’t really THAT big of a deal. One for you, one for me, rinse and repeat.
They’re cute and easily customized with the colors. I had mine in the oven for 4:30 mins. Any more and they would have melted all over the place. Little tricky, since they dont LOOK melty when you first take them out. I tried a couple with Rolos instead of Hugs. Meh…the caramel didn’t melt at all.

this guy is the reason i am so passionate about our military.
i’ve always said, you can’t quite grasp what the men and women [and families] of our military go through until someone close to you enrolls.
i’ve talked about my little brother countless times over the years, and every time memorial day rolls around i get a touch sentimental about it.
i’m just so proud of his commitment to this country, his love for this country, his passion and courage — to sacrifice all for us.
he’s an incredible father, a doting husband, a loyal friend, and a one of a kind brother. he is a marine, through and through.
he was born to serve this country, to give all in order to protect this great land we call home. what an incredible gift our military gives each of us, every single day.
may we never forget that.
